Peterborough, Ontario, August 25, 2010 Flying Colours Corp., an independently owned completion & modification center, recently completed work on the installation of a “Stone Floor” in a Bombardier Global 5000 business Jet. The new aircraft was flown from the Bombardier Global Completion Center in Montreal to Flying Colours for the modification and then overseas to the end user. The List Components & Furniture GmbH manufactured Stone Floor was installed in the entry/galley area, forward lavatory, and aft lavatory area of the Global 5000 business jet owned by an international client. This new and cutting edge process see the granite get cut into 2.5mm slices and attached to a lightweight backplate, which gives it high elasticity without losing the necessary floor-loading requirements.
The floor is custom engineered to fit a specific area and sealed to prevent liquids from penetrating the stone. The installation was carried out at Flying Colours Peterborough, Ontario facility. Flying Colours has seen an escalation in the demand for its refurbishment services among Global Express owners and sees this market as having major growth potential.
